As a supplement to his candy business, Mr. Sterzing developed a process which he sliced potatoes and slow cooked them one batch at a time. This process is still used today to maintain the unique flavor and texture that is the trademark of Sterzings.

Sterzing's ships potato chips all over the US and various parts of the world. Our international shipping began during the Vietnam War when servicemen requested shipments of the chips they grew up eating. Presently, we are sending many boxes of chips to servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Company was purchased in 1959 from the founder Barney Sterzing by his cousin Warren "Dutch" Duttweiler. Sterzing's continues today as a family owned and operated business by third generation of their family. We strive to continue the old fashioned way of making a great product, so each time you "tri-some" Sterzing's, you are taking part in the history that made Sterzing's Potato Chips one of Southeast Iowa's most recognizable products.
TRANS FAT FREE Sterzing’s Potato Chips is our NEW PRODUCT. The same cooking process is used but cooked with Asoyia’s Ultra Low Lin Soybean Oil. Different oil means a different flavor. This is the first time that Sterzing’s has added a new product to the Sterzing’s line since 1933. The flavor reminds many people of the national brand.
